Very interesting site. I am researching my ancestors. Johan George Fritz and Catherine Becker Fritze arrived at the Port of Indianaola in 1845, aboard the ship Timoleonwith their five children. They made their way to Fredericksburg, arriving there on May ,1846 where they obtained 320 acres out of the Miller-Fisher Land Grant. Shortly thereafter, cholera broke out in the settlement and both John George and Caroline died within three days.The children were raised by other friends and families. My Gr Grandf ther, Wilhelm Daniel Fritze was the youngest child. He was raised by the Henry Houy family and served in the Civil War and also the Texas Rangers. I, along with other descendants, are trying to find more information on the family for our family records. opefully your site will be helpful there. We appreciate it very much.

Some one saw you page and sent it to me. I have seen the Wehe name in the Texas Census many times. Especially loved the picture with Heinrich Wehe. Our Wehe emigrant was Killian Wehe of Heustreu Germany, came to LaHogue Il circa 1883. My husband's gra dfather nephew of Killian, Boniface Wehe came from Heustreu in 1896 at the age of 13 to work for his uncle. He latter married and settled in Loyal, Clark County Wisconsin. My maternal grandparents & great-grandparents, my mother and her siblings all grew up in and around New Braunfels. The name was Schumann. Isidore was the father, Ophelia(Nowotny) the mother. Isidore owned a butcher shop in N.B. Mom gave me a written histo y of the tree and I have visited the area. Nice! Also, nice website. Great site! I'm just beginning to research my family tree. I found an article that says that my Great Grandmother came to Galveston in 1865 (at the age of 7) after a fire destroyed her family's farm in Austria. I do not know her parents' names & am trying to find a source of immigrants to see if she was listed along with her parents. My aunt used to live in Amarillo (she was on my dad's NEELY side altho she marri d into the PENN family) and her daughter now lives in Boerne. Have many ties to Texas. He was born in Kniedingen (? - can't read his handwriting), Baden Germany. He died Dec. 24, 1932 and is buried in Win ers, Texas in Runnels County.
